Something is so not working, like, totally

Your sync server is not responding!

Seconded
Can you be a little more specific? We're not aware of any server problems. --Todd 19:54, 10 March 2006 (EST)
I've been getting "cannot parse sync file" errors on both my machines for upwards a week now. When I log into my.foxcloud.com I get a very ugly python error page that I could post here if you like. Also, how do you do that fancy dashdashsignaturedate thing you got going on? Can't imagine you're typing it by manual.
Please see Foxmarks: Error: Failed to parse sync file for information about this. As for the signature, you can get that inserted automatically by clicking on the signature button at the top of the edit window, second from the right. --Todd 23:15, 21 March 2006 (EST)
OK, Thanks, I'll see if that works as soon as I get back home. --84.56.20.134 03:52, 23 March 2006 (EST)
It has worked like a charm, but wouldn't it be cool to implement a safeguard against this? Like, only replace the bookmark file if the transfer is completed, toss the upload otherwise? --88.64.79.207 05:39, 27 March 2006 (EST)
Indeed, what you describe is exactly what is desired. The trick is getting the server to play along. We're getting close to figuring this one out. --Todd 10:36, 27 March 2006 (EST)
Way awesome. I'll be here, waiting patiently, then. --84.56.62.88 09:28, 30 March 2006 (EST)

Some Bio info?

It would be nice if you guys gave more information about:

  • Who is developing Foxcloud?
  • Is it opensource? Will it become opensource?
  • Will this service stay free?
  • etc.

You know the usual bio stuff... Great app thanks Chris

Update:

Here is what I found out about foxcloud is this correct?

So that was fun, could any one confirm if this information if correct. If it is this could be added to the Wiki so visitors get a better idea of who is behind FoxCloud.

The information above is basically correct. I edited the links to be more current. I will post something to the Foxmarks blog about what we're up to with this project.

Thank you for the reply Mr Kapor glad to see this Wiki is being used by your group.

Are there any immediate plans to support the new Places for Firefox which I believe will be in the 2.0 build? I don't know if the new bookmark API has stabilized. I would just hate to loose Foxmarks for a very long period after 2.0 comes out (whenever that might be).

Places/Firefox 2.0

We've had some high-level discussion with our friends at Mozilla about the new Places API. We're excited to see this be included as a core part of Firefox 2.0, and have offered to share our insights about synchronization with the product and engineering teams at Mozilla. It's still quite early in the development cycle, but we definitely aim to be on the bleeding edge with Places once it's a bit further along. Fear not. --Todd 21:05, 15 February 2006 (EST)

Oh man, Firefox2 is going to be so awesome...

Alphabetical?

I thought your bookmark folders were arranged alphabetically. At least it seemed that way to me...so when I wanted to move one of my folders to the top, I just thought of a lower letter in the alphabet to begin the title!

But it hasn't worked, and I'd like to know why, and how I can fix it. Thanks.
