From Foxcloud Wiki
I get to the part where it wants to sync bookmarks and it looks for sync file and cannot find one. It just hangs trying to find sync file never completing. This has happened on 2 different pcs using firefox 1.5.

Power outage
We had a power outage at our colocation facility today. Please try again now. --Todd 16:35, 19 December 2005 (EST)
I tried again 12/22/05 and it never syncs. I waited 45 minutes.
- There is clearly something else going on here. Did you use the Setup Wizard to create your Foxcloud account? If not, please see Foxmarks: Frequently Asked Questions -- the first two questions in particular -- for instructions on how to create a Foxcloud account.
- If you still have a problem, please see Foxmarks: Reporting a Bug -- particularly the bit about Javascript errors.
- Thanks for helping us track this down. --Todd 13:42, 22 December 2005 (EST)
When i try to use the setup wizard , it says that my first name is not valid. What is invalid in Marcus?
- That's bizarre. The Setup Wizard will reject names that contain non-ASCII characters, as the server (currently) doesn't allow them. Some (non-English) keyboards have characters that look like ASCII, but are not, e.g., Japanese Hankaku characters. Is it possible that you're keyboard is in a non-ASCII mode of some sort? --68.127.105.5 11:56, 25 April 2006 (EDT)
Private bookmarks
Hi, it's a wonderful extension. But I'd like it does not synchozie my private bookmarks. Then, I could use this tool with in my company to synchronize our favorites bookmarks.
- What are your private bookmarks ? --Todd 10:55, 4 June 2006 (EDT)
Great Idea...
I was just wondering if there are any plans to create a program like this one that can manage extentions. I dont know how many times I have had to reload those damn things. Plus I have to go back and adjust all of the preferences. Help....
I just installed it and I have to say...
...it went off without so much as a blink or a twitch, and I'm surprised because my real computer in the process of being repaired...slowly... by a friend, so right now I'm using, UGH, Windows 98. Not only that, but it's a loaner from a friend, and the computer is so messed up that I'm amazed everytime I actually get on the internet. So far, so good.
1. ask if synchronization wanted rather than auto as an option
correction in Master Password section of FAQs 3.9
Here is a correction (changes highlighted in red). Note location change (" Passwords" is in Tools / Options / Security" and not in Tools / Options / Privacy where you have described it.
What is Master Password for the Software Security Device?
This is a feature of Firefox, not Foxmarks. Firefox allows you to set a master password to protect all of your web passwords, including your password for your Foxcloud account. If you've enabled Firefox's Master Password, Firefox will ask you to supply this password in each Firefox session the first time that Foxmarks tries to sync. If you don't need to protect access to your passwords, disable the Master Password by going to Tools / Options / Security / Passwords in Firefox and click to remove the check-mark in the box "Use a master password."
I have some problems with the installation! Can anybody help me?
I use three machine and want to sync the bookmarks on them.
1./ There are already bookmarks on each of the machines. Can I unite them or not with this addon?
2./ I followed the installtion guide and created an account on one of the machines. It was OK. Then according to step 4. "Repeat steps 1-3 for each machine that you wish to sync. " I wanted to do the same on the next machine. And there I was confused: should I use the same account for each machine or separate. Nevertheless I tried both. None of them functioned. When I gave the existing username it would not eccept because it already existed. Then I tried to create another account. For some reason on this computer it takes about more than ten minutes to write the sync file and when I want to sync again it will say "the remote file seems to have dissapeared" What can or should I do?
- You should use the same account on each machine, but, after setting up your account on the first machine, tell the Setup Wizard that you already have an account. If you're still having trouble, please contact us by email. --Todd 18:38, 5 June 2007 (EDT)
I suggest that in FAQ you specify whether Foxmarks is cross platform compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linnus Operating systems.
